THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE

about the show

Momentum will celebrate the Harlem Renaissance by engaging more than 1,000 central Ohio children in dance, music and performance during their weekly, in-school Momentum classes. The school year will culminate with four grand, hour-long performances given by more than 1,000 Momentum dancers to capacity audiences. All Momentum performances are free and open to the public. Tickets are limited and only available on a first-come basis 30 minutes prior to the showtime in the Davidson Theatre.  Our 2018-2019 programming is in partnership with city-wide celebration, I, Too, Sing America: The Harlem Renaissance at 100. • “I learned from taking Momentum that if you believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything. I thought Momentum was so hard. But then I started to believe in myself, and it became easier. Then the next thing you know, I was onstage performing in front of 1,000 people.”

    —Abe, Momentum Dancer
  • “Everyone is a star in their own way, and that means you can do anything you put your mind to if you try.”

    —Evangee, Momentum Dancer
